Season 2022 - Open Days

2022 Open day dates!

We are pleased to announce our schedule for 2022 open days at the Doon Valley Railway.

Visitors can travel behind our industrial steam and diesel locomotives on the former National Coal Board (NCB) Line along the beautiful Doon Valley, enjoy light snacks in our Signal Box Café and see numerous pieces of rolling stock from a variety of industries.

Our Open Days for 2022 are listed below:

● April 18th Easter Monday - Easter egg hunt

● May: Sunday 1st and Sunday 29th

● June: Sunday 19th and Sunday 26th

● July: Sundays 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st

● August: Sundays 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th

● September: Sundays 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th

Gates open at 1030 on the above listed dates, with the first service departing Dunaskin Station at 1100. The last service is programmed for 1600 and gates close at 1630, where all customers must be clear of the Doon Valley Railway car park. 

***All passenger trains will be steam hauled subject to locomotive availability and in the event our steam locomotive becomes unavailable, services will be hauled by one of our heritage diesel locomotive fleet.***
